In September, IHG and Association colleagues spent the month working to improve their communities, the environment and the lives of others. Nearly 160,000 colleagues from IHG-branded hotels and corporate offices around the world participated in the second annual Giving for Good month with more than 188,000 hours volunteered.
Part of IHG's flagship charitable giving program, True Hospitality for Good, Giving for Good month brings colleagues together to improve their surrounding environment, their personal health or their local community. During this annual initiative, each individual who does a good deed and registers their activity at www.truehospitalityforgood.com can choose a cause that IHG will donate to on their behalf.
The Association and IHG's philanthropic endeavors, however, are certainly not limited to the month of September, and all year long we serve strategic charitable partnerships to make a difference in communities around the globe. These partnerships help deliver action on hospitality skills building, disaster relief and environmental sustainability.
This past September, countless IHG and Association colleagues came together to achieve some incredible things:
- Over 188,000 hours of volunteering
- Nearly 34,000 donations of food and belongings
- More than 5,700 blood donations
- Almost 47,000 acts of care for the environment
